I am interested in extreme environment ecology, especially in polar ecosystems. My current position involve the study of biogeography, diversity and genetic adaptation traits of bacteria to different arid soils, including degraded ones. My PhD involved the study of cyanobacteria from Antarctica using isolation, cultivation, amplicon sequencing, (meta)genomic and transcriptomic techniques. My previous research involved macroalgal diversity and ecophysiology.
